Aleksandra's original Allegro String Quartet was founded in the year 2000 in Gdansk, Poland. They were four girls who traveled the world performing aboard cruise ships for Celebrity Cruise Lines. They have played from Alaska to Panama, in two oceans, three continents, seven seas and countless countries and islands. Aboard the ships, the Allegro String Quartet was very popular. They played concerts, chamber music and dinner music. This meant having a large repertoire - over 300 songs! - because they did not want their audiences to become bored hearing the same songs over and over. In 2008 Aleksandra married her shipboard sweetheart, a Texan, and relocated to Austin, Texas. Soon she formed a NEW Allegro String Quartet, featuring Texas musicians - her friends and colleagues from the many local and regional orchestras that they all play in together. Their combined years of experience as professional musicians and entertainers gives the New Allegro String Quartet smooth sound and a European style that will add glamor and elegance to any event.

Frequently Asked Questions: How much does it cost to play a wedding or a reception? One event, up to one hour, will be $520. There may be an extra fee if the location is remote and requires additional travel. Will you play for more than one hour? Additional hours are $250 each. What forms of payment do you accept? Cash and checks only, with a 50% non-refundable deposit two weeks before your event. Why is the deposit non-refundable? We do not double-book events; we commit to your event exclusively. Therefore we are usually unable to find a replacement event if you cancel within two weeks. Do you attend the rehearsal? No; we are experienced professionals and do not attend the wedding rehearsals. We will consult with you and your planners for any special requests or conditions. Will you play outside? Yes, of course, depending on weather conditions. Shade is very important, not only for the comfort of the musicians but for the sake of our fragile instruments, which are handmade antiques. May I request specific music? Certainly! We have an extensive repertoir, and possibly already have pieces suiting your needs. For an unusual request, we would need to get the music scored and arranged for string quartet, so of course this would cost more.
